Maurits Hildering
Founder
From a young age I dreamed of starting my own business. In 1990 my journey began. First importing ready-made trees and then building trees myself here in the Netherlands.
Addy Severijns
Product manager
As a product manager, I am involved in preparing moss, leaf materials and making the orders ready for shipping.
That all orders are delivered with a good end result and on time, gives me a happy and proud feeling!
Fiona van Kooij
Office manager – project support
As office manager / project support, I am one of the points of contact for our dealers. In this versatile function, I am mainly involved in making quotes, processing orders and planning. Thinking up solutions in creative processes together with my enthusiastic colleagues, that gives me energy!
Sandor Minks
Sandor Minks - Project designer
As project designer, I am the contact person for the workshop. I am involved in advising and realizing green objects and custom projects. To realize the customer's wish and to bring my creativity to it, that is a great challenge for me every time!

Creative employee
As a creative employee, I take care of the decoration with plants, moss walls and moss circles. Each time for a different project. That makes my work so fun and varied!

As a creative employee, I make the custom-made trees, moss walls and moss circles. My work is very varied because I also often go on location to place the green art myself.

Mechanic
As a mechanic, I am involved in the placement and assembly of the green art on location. I enjoy seeing the end result every time and finishing a project design.
Maurits Hildering
From an early age I dreamed of starting my own business. In 1990, at the age of 19, I started my adventure in my parents' barn. My journey started with importing ready-made trees from the Philippines and China. The transport costs were high and I soon discovered that it could be done more efficiently and faster. Namely, by building trees yourself here in the Netherlands.
Mummy plants
My breakthrough came in 1996 when I discovered prepared leaf branches. My father was a chemist and I knew a lot about chemistry, from that combined knowledge I started preparing plants myself.
To professionalise further, more knowledge of biology was needed. So I contacted experts at Wageningen University. There I found the right professional idiot, who shared my passion for this project. The cost of the research was high for my young company, but it became a huge success! We developed a method to preserve real plants in a sustainable way.
In this way we created real greenery that requires no water, sunlight and little maintenance. This became a great success and formed the basis for our current range of mummy plants.
Moss walls
In 2000 we introduced preserved moss walls. This innovation quickly became a hype. Our company continued to grow and in 2016 we moved to a new, energy neutral location in Apeldoorn. Here we continue to innovate and develop sustainable planting.

At Hildering Groenkunst, quality and customer satisfaction are key. We offer tailor-made solutions and actively think along with our customers, from design to delivery. Together we bring the atmosphere of real greenery to every room, with little maintenance.
Green inventors
Inventing is still what I enjoy most about entrepreneurship. Our mission is to be the best green inventors. We are proud of the sustainable impact we make with this!
